ELPHODOX
Elphodox is a 2007 AQHA Sorrel gelding.
Elphodox is a big stout colt that has hellacious bone and good correct conformation with
no scars or blemishes. He has good solid black feet and is not
tender footed at all.
Elphodox has had about 10 months cutting training and is extremely
athletic, cowy and very good, quiet minded. He is really trained! You can put your hand down on
him and go cut already. He would make a jam up Amateur or Non-Pro
horse if someone could further his training. He really has the
talent and his trainer would not mind having him back to complete his
training. He stands about 14.3 hh and weighs about 1000 pounds, so
he is not limited to cutting! If you don't want to further his
cutting training, he would also make a great rope horse, barrel horse,
penner or sorter. He has an amazing handle on him and really will
ride around nicely. He is real quite to ride out side and he has
been exposed to just about everything out in the pasture. We have
also started to rope off of him aswell. My husband, Tom, has been
using him in ranch rodeos and cattle drives. We did the Cowboy
Culture Celebration in April 2010 and we were all invited to do the cattle
drive and then we also had a ranch rodeo team together. Tom was
pretty much the trail boss for the cattle drive and he did all this one
Elphodox! Rode him all through town, driving cattle through traffic
and residential area and parade. After the cattle drive was over
that day the ranch rodeo started. Tom got to heel a couple on for
our team on Elphodox. Elphodox was wonderful! He is not scared
or goosey at anything. He he just the perfect horse! And just
about anyone that knows how to sit up on a horse and hold the reins, can
ride him. Elphodox
is so sweet and gentle and you can catch him anywhere, as a matter of
fact, you cannot even walk out to his pasture without him coming up to you
and trying to stick his nose in a halter. He just loves people! He has no
buck, rear, bite, etc and absolutely no bad habits.
He comes from a family of all producers and or performers and not just piddly ones...You want to talk about BLACK TYPE! When you have a
horse that has a performer and or producer in every line of his pedigree,
you are almost guaranteed a good one! He has proven that.
Elphodox has a really good stop, good flex, and a pretty way of moving with
a cow and a big sweep. He really wants to get his head down low and really work the
cow. Elphodox will be really tough to beat when he is finished. He has a good disposition, is easy to catch and easy to handle
and very easy to ride. You don't get much better than this! Elphodox's sire is Playdox LTE $56,712, is an almost $2 Million Dollar
Sire. He is the sire of Pet Squirrel NCHA LTE $385,577 and many more
like him that have won big every where they show. I could be here
all day long listing all that. Elphodox's momma is Elphabelena NCHA
LTE $4,585. She is the dam of Aristocratic Trona, NCHA LTE $58,000. Elphabelena is an own daughter of Smart Aristocrat, NCHA LTE $172,961, and
almost $3 Million Dollar Sire. There is
more to list for each of the horses in his 4 generation pedigree, but I
won't bore you with more...just use your imagination! Elphodox is
priced cheaper than the breeding fee to his daddy, which is $6k. He is
a really a nice cutting horse and using horse! Elphodox is nominated to the 2010 NCHA
Futurity (and he has a good chance at winning something like that in the
Amateur or Non-Pro). There is a video clip below of him during his
2yo year in cutting training.
