HICKORY REY FLOYD Hickory Rey Floyd, aka Floyd, is a 2007 AQHA Bay Gelding aka Floyd. Now this gelding is as cute as he can be! He has a beautiful head and neck, and mane and tail to die for. There is no telling what his mane and tail would look like if we took good care of it. He just lives out in the pasture and his tail drags the ground. Floyd is sweet, gentle and quiet, but I see some catty-ness in him too! He is plenty athletic and has all of the brains and heart in the world. He has a big, kind, soft, eye, a great disposition, and wonderful conformation. He also has a real bright look, perky ears, well put together, and a very athletic build. Floyd is really broke and he is really really nice, just as I suspected when he was a baby! No buck or silly stuff and he moves out real pretty, smooth, and freely. Floyd has a really soft face too and neck reins really pretty too, not to mention a really good handle on him too. He rides real nice out in the pasture and is quiet and gentle. We have roped a big mean cow off of him, drug her in the trailer, and we've roped and doctored a bunch of calves out in the pasture, and he will sort in the pen, load, what ever you want to do on him, you can do it! He is currently being used as one of our best ranch horses around here. Floyd is the favorite around here. He is not a finished horse, but he is very far along for his age. He has been exposed to it all! He gets rode in some real rough country, hunting wild cattle in the brush, sorting, doctoring, dragging calves, etc. He is will work a rope good and will not run off and leave you hanging. He has so much try and so much heart and he pulls really good by the horn. He is plenty athletic, smart and very willing. Not to mention really fast too with you ask for that other gear. Floyd will travel through, over, and around just about anything. He will willingly walk, trot, or lope through water, jump over dead trees that are down, travel through thick brush, etc. He is the type of horse that would still travel 100 miles with a broke leg just to get you there because you asked him to. That's what I mean by him having a big heart and a lot of try. He learns very quickly too! We have had him in and out of the trailer A LOT and he loads good, backs out good, or will turn around if you need him too as well. We have also had him in and out of the stock to bathe him every time we ride him. He has had nothing but wet saddle pads. He is currently in a correction bit, and doing very well in it, but will also ride really nice in a hack as well. We are currently showing him in ranch rodeos and ranch sortings. He has several brothers and sisters that have made cutting horses, penning and sorting horses, ranch horses, and roping horses. He stands about 14.3hh and weighs about 1000 lbs and still growing. Floyd is shod and stands well for the farrier. No bad habits what so ever. Floyd is not for sale anymore. We are keeping him back for a ranch horse.
