ELS SON OF A DUN
ELS Son Of A Dun is a 2006 AQHA Red Dun gelding aka Cooney.
We call him Cooney because he has the cutest coon tail. Cooney has
had about 10 months cutting training with Scott McClurg. He has a
lot of cow and a lot of talent. He is quick and catty but yet still
gentle/quiet minded. He is really fun to ride and he has had some
good training. Cooney is no finished cutter, but he will stop and
turn around with a cow well. He also side passes, knows his leads,
can open and close gates well, and is broke right in his face and sides.
Cooney is a really sweet and cute gelding. He is very gentle and
good minded and has really good manners on his back or on the ground.
He stands about 14.1hh right now (still a baby and growing) and has great
conformation. He has 1 cosmetic blemish, a splint on his left front
leg. For those of you who know about splints, you know they don't
mean anything. Vet checks are welcome, but he has never been lame on
it. I will guarantee him sound per purchase. Cooney is
currently shod and good with the ferrier. He is also current on his
vaccs. and d-worming. He is easy to catch anywhere and gets along
good with other horses, but he does get bossed around some if he is
running with dominant ones. Cooney is broke to a rope and if you
don't want to further his cutting training, he would also make a good
sorting horse, reining horse, playday horse or any other cow horse event.
He would probably even make a great kids horse because he is so sweet and
gentle and not very big. I bet he matures to about 14.2 by the time
he is a 6yo. Cooney is a really nice gelding with a very neat shade
of red dun, a blaze face, and the rabicano gene (coon tail, roany flanks,
roany sides, and roany between his front and back legs.) He also has
no white on his feet. One more thing, we have rode Cooney several
times lately on these really cold morning and he has never offered to be
fresh or act silly or humpy. Cooney has all kinds of famous horses
on his papers....BLACK TYPE PEDIGREE ALL OF THE WAY!
10 of the horses on his papers are NCHA money earners and EVERY
horse on his papers is a producer!! Pretty cool huh!! Cooney's
sire is WR Smart N Hickory LTE $16,357 and he has produced more than he
has won. His momma, TM Felicity is a producer of 3 foals 1 of which
is a performing foal. TM Felicity is an own daughter of Smart
Equalizer, who was a finalist at more futurities and derbies than any
other cutting horse to date and won over $54,000+ and won the AQHA World
Show Championship. Having a pedigree like this is almost a guarantee
that he will be a good one and he is already proving that during his
training. I would love to put him back in training, but we can't
afford it. Here is your opportunity to cheat your way to the top
financially. He has over $11,000 worth of training in him already.
He will be worth a lot of money if he gets finished. He is
sound and no bad habits. Cooney is under the barn wearing a blanket. SOLD!
