RICHS NATIVE WHISKEY Richs Native Whiskey is a 2000 AQHA Appendix Dun gelding aka Hambone. If you want pretty, then here he is! Hambone is a good looking rascal that has good size, good bone, correct conformation in every way, and good hard solid black feet. The only markings he has is a star between his eyes. He has pretty mane and the tail to die for!! His tail is so thick and big and pretty and has frosting all in it. He's all there and has a beautiful head, good withers and a big pretty hip. On top of all that he is a dun and has all the primitive markings such as a dorsal strip, stripes on his legs, shoulder shadows, black tips on his ears, black legs and black mane and tail. Hambone is broke to ride and is gentle to be around and to handle. He doesn't really have a job yet per say, but he is now currently broke to a rope. Hambone is still a little green as far as his handle goes, so he would not be good for an inexperienced rider. He has never been bronky or anything like that he just requires a 2 handed rider for the most part. He also is not a lazy horse like most inexperienced riders need. We plan to start tracking cattle on him as soon as we get some heifers weaned. He would probably make a nice barrel horse or team roping horse or ranch horse with some training. He learns very fast and has a good mind about teaching stuff to. Hambone's pedigree consist of race blood, foundation and a little bit of halter. He is a known ancestor to Impressive (7 generations back....that's way back..) and he has never been tested, but he doesn't nor hasn't ever had any signs or symptoms of hypp. Maybe that's most likely because it is so far back and it is bred out of him. Hambone's great grandsire Kid Meyers was an own son of Three Bars and he had an AQHA Race SI-95 AAA, Race ROM, LTE $10,653, he was AQHA's First Supreme Champion, he only had 4 foal crops and out of them he has 23 Race ROMs and some Futurity winners.
