Sheza Bar Commander aka Maredy is a 1995 AQHA bay mare. This mare is a very sweet foundation bred mare that is a very easy breeder. Maredy is also broke to ride and is kid gentle. You can also catch her anywhere, anytime. She rides good and has a good handle. You can turn her out for a year and get her back up and she will ride the same. She has had several foals in the past by WR Dual Twist and the first one is a beautiful red dun mare, Duals Dutch Date, who is currently in cutting training and is making a futurity prospect. (Click HERE to see pics of her.) Her second foal by WR Dual Twist is a gorgeous GRULLA stud colt, Magic Mister Dual. (Click HERE to see pics of him.) Neither one of her foals by WR Dual Twist has had white on their feet. This has been a "magic" cross that is why we chose to breed her back to him. In the past Maredy has always carried for 12 months so the expected due date may be a few weeks off. She is an easy foaler, great mother, and easy breeder, has been hand bred, AIed, and pasture bred. We used to keep shoes on her but have recently pulled them because we are not riding her much. She is big and stout, sound and is an easy keeper. She also has correct conformation and stands about 14.3 hands. Maredy has no scars or blemishes. She has a big huge butt and a very pretty face and has always passed that on to her foals. Maredy is the kind of mare that everyone wants to have because of her good looks, pedigree and wonderful disposition. She has no bad habits or flaws. ***NEWS FLASH!!! Maredy has had a healthy set of twins born on 3/29/09! Both are fillies and one is bay with dun factor and the other is Black. We named them Lilo and Stitch. This is odd that she carried twins because we had her ultra sounded just like you are supposed to at about 18 days after being bred. Only evidence of 1 baby was there and if there were twins they should have been real noticeable. Anyway, some how 1 must have been in hiding. :) Other wise we would have had 1 of them pinched off at that time. Well, big surprise to us, 2 babies came out and they are so cute!! Both are extremely healthy and happy and alive and well today!! They are so funny when they run and play! A lot of times they drink from momma together and then lay together often on top of each other. I have done a lot of research on twins since all this and it is extremely rare that they are born alive and amazingly these were carried full term! Wow! On top of that, there is not a thing in the world wrong with them!! :) The odds have been against them, but it hasn't slowed them down a bit!! We are supplementing the mare to make sure they get all of the nutrition they need and so far the babies have not needed any supplementing. They are a tad bit small compared to this mare's other foals in the past, but not too bad. One is smaller than the other. Stitch is the bay/dun filly that is smaller than Lilo, the black one. This couldn't have happened to a better mare. She is so good with them and good with letting us play with them and doesn't mind all of the visitors and news people that have come over to see them. I asked my vet about the fertility and he said that she is no different than any other mare. The twins should be just as fertile as any other mare. She has no better chance at producing twins than any other mare unlike cattle. 4-N-1 package (the whole family plus one in the oven). We will sell her in foal for 2010 too! She is currently being exposed back! SOLD! THANKS MARISSA AND DAVID JOHNSON IN FLORESVILLE, TX!
